To install the H2flow CONTROLS FlowVis Flow Meter, follow these steps:
1. Choose the installation location: The FlowVis can be installed in various positions, including horizontal, vertical, or even upside-down. Refer to the installation locations graphic provided in the manual to determine the best location for your specific application.
2. Ensure correct flow direction: Pay attention to the system's direction of flow and make sure that the arrow on the lid of the FlowVis is pointing in the correct direction. For the DN80 and DN100 versions, the Tee will have an additional arrow on one of its bosses. If the FlowVis is inadvertently glued in the wrong direction, remove the screws holding the lid in place and rotate the entire lid assembly by 180 degrees.
3. Prepare for installation: Before installing the FlowVis, remove the lid assembly. When selecting a physical location, ensure accessibility to read the scale on the lid.
4. Plumbing procedures: Follow normal plumbing procedures such as cleaning, priming, and gluing of fixtures to avoid leaks.
5. Tighten lid screws: When removing and re-installing the FlowVis lid assembly, make sure the o-ring on the underside of the lid is undamaged, lubricated with silicone, and in place without twists. Ensure the flapper hinge pin is centered. Carefully lower the lid onto its valve body (or Tee for DN80 and DN100 models) while keeping the o-ring in place. Insert the stainless steel screws by hand but do not tighten them yet. Slowly tighten the screws in a diagonal pattern using a hand Phillips-head screwdriver. Tighten the screws to a final torque of 34 Nm.
6. Verify installation: Once the FlowVis is installed, ensure there are no leaks around the lid seal. Check for any cracks in the lid. Also, check the flow readings to ensure they are within the expected range.
