To install the Waterstone Faucets 3100 Wall-Mounted Potfiller, follow these steps:
1. Before starting the installation, ensure that the rough-in plumbing is completed. Determine the position of the pot filler, considering its reach when fully extended (22 inches). It is recommended to align the pot filler valve to the left or right side of the cooking surface, avoiding the center.
2. Plumb the stub out pipe (A) from your household water source. Use a 1/2" NPT pipe xxxx for the rough-in plumbing stub out. Extend the end of the stub out pipe no more than 1/2" beyond the mounting surface. Loosely strap the pipe behind to allow for some play (between 1/8" and 1/4" of in and out movement). The height of the stub out pipe should be approximately 13 inches above the cooking surface to provide clearance for larger cook pots.
3. Attach the pipe adapter: Turn off the water source. Using the provided 1/4" hex wrench (B), attach the pipe adapter (C) to the stub out pipe xxxx on the wall. Use Teflon tape on the threads to ensure a watertight seal. Tighten the pipe adapter and check that the back of the adapter can be pushed flush to the wall.
4. Align the mounting plate: Place the mounting plate (D) over the pipe adapter (C), ensuring that the adapter is positioned in the hole at the bottom of the plate. The plate should fit flat against the wall surface. Use a level or carpenter's square to position the plate straight up and down. Hold the plate in place and mark the four mounting xxxx hole positions on the wall with a pencil. Remove the plate.
5. Drill four mounting holes: Before drilling, ensure that there are no electrical or water lines behind the wall surface. Predrill four holes using a 1/4" drill bit on the marked xxxx hole positions. Insert four plastic wall anchors (E) into the drilled holes, ensuring that the head of the wall anchor does not protrude above the surface of the wall.
6. Attach the mounting plate: Reposition the mounting plate over the pipe adapter and align the four drilled holes with the four xxxx holes on the plate. xxxx the mounting plate to the wall. Use the provided C-clip (F) to secure the pipe adapter to the mounting plate. Push the C-clip into the groove closest to the mounting plate using the provided wooden stick (G). This ensures proper location for attachment of the potfiller assembly.
7. Attach the pot filler to the mounting plate: The pot filler comes pre-assembled. Once the mounting plate is secure on the wall, you can attach the potfiller assembly. Unscrew the upper and lower threaded decorative rings (H) on both the upper and lower mounting bases to reveal the mounting set screws (J). Lubricate the pipe adapter with liquid dish soap. Slide the potfiller assembly onto the pipe adapter and the upper mounting bases (K) on the plate. The lower base has an O-ring (L) that will seal into the valve assembly. Ensure that the potfiller assembly is touching and flush with the mounting plate.
8. Secure the potfiller: Using the provided 3/32" hex wrench (M), replace and tighten the lower three set screws and upper three set screws. The set xxxx points should be seated into the "V" groove on the pipe adapter. Do not overtighten the set screws, a snug tight is sufficient. Once all six set screws are in place, thread the decorative upper and lower rings back onto the mounting bases to conceal the threads and set screws. Hand tighten only, do not use a wrench.
9. Restore water pressure and check for leaks: Turn on the water source and check for any leaks. If you have any questions or concerns, you can contact Waterstone for technical assistance at 1-888-304-0660.
