1. DryOx Treatment:
- Ensure there are no bathers in the pool during the DryOx treatment procedure.
- Calculate the number of DryOx tablets to be used.
- Wear protective gloves and eye protection when handling the tablets.
- Open the tablet box and use scissors to open the vacuum pack.
- Drop the tablet into the water, skimmer basket, overflow channel, or a combination of these. Do not touch the tablets or allow them to get wet before adding them to the pool.
- Allow the tablets to dissolve with the system running for at least 1 hour.
- After the treatment, perform a normal backwash procedure on the filters.
2. Changing Media for AFM:
- Remove the existing filter media. It is recommended to use a vehicle with a vacuum suction hose for this task.
- Check the drain system (nozzles or lateral system) in the filter for any damage or wear. If the media has been in the filter for a long period, changing the drain system may be necessary.
- Install the AFM (Activated Filter Media) in the filter according to the filter manufacturer's guidelines. Start with the largest grade (Grade 3), followed by Grade 2 and then Grade 1.
- After installing the AFM, backwash the filter until the water runs clear before bringing it online for filtration.
3. Installing ZPM's (Zero Pollution Modules):
Positioning:
- Install the pre-filter ZPM between the pump and filter, as close to the pump as possible for a longer flocculation period.
- Install the post-filter ZPM after the filter and before any heat exchangers or UV systems.
Installation:
- Stop the flow through the pipework area where the ZPM is being installed. This may involve stopping circulation.
- Make necessary pipework modifications to allow for the installation of the ZPM.
- The ZPM sizes DN40, DN50, and DN65 have Male BSP threaded ports, while sizes DN80 and above have DIN PN10 Flanges.
- Install the ZPM into the pipe, ensuring a seal is formed at both ends.
- Ground the pre-filter ZPM using an earth wire, but the post-filter ZPM does not require grounding.
- If there are any injection or sampling points, install them into the 2" ports before returning flow to this area of pipework.
4. Installing APF/ACO Dosing:
Dosing Pumps:
- Locate the dosing pumps as close as possible to both the chemical drum and the injection point to minimize the length of hose used and reduce the likelihood of blockages.
- Follow the dosing pump installation manual for proper installation.
- Use injection check valves at the injection point of the chemical to ensure consistent dosing and prevent blockages.
Chemicals:
- Dose APF into the pre-filter ZPM located before the filters.
- Dose ACO into the post-filter ZPM located after the filters.
- Place the chemical containers in a bund tray near the dosing pump.
- Position the strainer/foot valve on the suction line from the dosing pump as low as possible within the chemical container.
- Pass the suction line from the dosing pump through a hole in the lid of the chemical container, and drill another small hole in the lid to allow air to enter/exit the container.
5. Commissioning:
- Balancing Water: Ensure that the water being filtered meets certain chemical conditions. Refer to the table provided in the manual for the specific chemical conditions.
- Dosing of APF and ACO: The dosing rate should be controlled through the measurement of Turbidity and Aluminium. As a starting point, dose 1ml of APF and ACO for every m³ of water circulated through the filters. Adjust the dosing rate as needed based on weekly measurements.
