To prepare the Sonnenkonig Tosai 241 heater for use, follow these steps:
1. Unpacking: Remove the heater from the cardboard box and remove all protective packaging.
2. Fitting the combustion cylinder: Place the combustion cylinder on the circular wick guide. Turn the combustion cylinder lever to the left and then half way to the right until the combustion cylinder is correctly positioned.
3. Fitting the batteries: Place 4 batteries (LR14 or Type C) in the battery case at the rear of the heater, making sure to respect the polarities as indicated in the drawing.
4. Liquid combustible for mobile heater: Use the recommended liquid combustible, such as COMBUSTAR, which is free of impurities and has a flash-point above 61°. Do not use contaminated or chemically treated fuel.
5. Filling with liquid combustible: Stop the heater and make sure it is cool. Open the lid of the fuel tank compartment and use a pump to fill the tank with liquid combustible. Fill until the fuel level reaches the middle of the fuel gauge. Close the tank securely and wipe away any spills.
6. Lighting the heater: Check that the combustion cylinder is properly positioned. Slowly push the ignition lever downwards until the START position and maintain it for 1 to 2 seconds until the flame is visible. Check visually through the glass burner cylinder that the heater is alight.
7. Adjusting the height of the flame: The height of the flame can be adjusted by going up a little on the adjustment button to decrease the combustion. If the flame is too high or uneven, gently shake the lever on the combustion cylinder and adjust the height of the wick. If the problem persists, stop the heater and contact your retailer.
8. Turning off the heater: Push the "STOP button" to shut off the heater. The automatic shut-off device will lower the wick quickly and put out the flame. Wait at least five minutes before lighting the heater again.
