To set up the QFX REM-20 Universal Remote, you have two options: manual registration and auto registration.
Manual Registration:
1. Switch on the device you want to control with the remote.
2. Press and hold the device selection button (e.g., TV) for 5 seconds until the blue LED turns on.
3. Look up the 5-digit code for your device's brand in the code list provided in the manual.
4. Enter the first 5-digit code using the digit buttons on the remote. If the LED light turns off, it means a valid code has been saved. If the light flashes once and remains on, the code was not valid, and you need to re-enter it.
5. Test the remote by operating the device. If it responds correctly, it means you have entered the right code. If not, repeat the process from step 2 and try the next code on the list. Note that some devices may only respond to certain buttons, so try different codes if needed.
Auto Registration:
1. Switch on the device you want to control with the remote.
2. Press and hold the device selection button (e.g., TV) for 5 seconds until the blue LED turns on.
3. Point the remote at the device and press the device selection button repeatedly (up to 300 times) to start searching for the code.
4. With each press, the blue LED indicator will flash. Keep pressing until the device turns off.
5. Immediately press and release the OK button to save the code. The blue LED indicator will turn off.
6. Test the remote by operating the device. If it responds correctly, it means you have saved the right code.
Note: Make sure to insert batteries into the remote before starting the setup process. Incorrect battery polarity may damage the remote. Also, when replacing batteries, all user settings will be retained in the remote's memory for 5 minutes.
