To install the VAL-2010-BBZ Low Voltage Landscape Lighting, please follow these steps:
1. Ensure that the power is turned OFF before installing or servicing the fixture.
2. Make sure the fixture is not installed within 10 feet (3 meters) of a pool, spa, or fountain.
3. This fixture is designed to be used with a power supply (transformer) rated maximum of 300 watts (25 AMPS) at 15 volts.
4. The underground low energy cable should not be buried over 6 inches (15.2 cm) to connect to the main low voltage cable.
5. Use UL Listed wire connectors suitable for the application to make wiring connections.
6. Position the wire connector within 6 inches (15.2 cm) from a building structure, luminaire, or fitting.
7. Turn off/unplug the fixture and allow it to cool before replacing the lamp, as it gets hot quickly.
8. Do not touch the hot lens, guard, or cowl, and keep the lamp away from materials that may burn.
9. Use a soft cloth to handle the lamp, as oil from the skin may damage it.
10. Do not operate the fixture with a damaged or missing lens or shield.
Installation Steps:
1. Install the stake: Determine the desired location for mounting the stake mount. Hammer the stake into the ground until the flange of the stake is flush to grade. If the ground is hard, make a crosscut using a flat shovel.
2. Attach the fixture body to the stake: Pass the fixture wire through the center hole of the stake. Thread the fixture body onto the stake and hand tighten until snug.
3. Make wire connections: Strip both leads from the fixture body. Using two wire connectors, connect the leads from the fixture body to the main supply cable leads.
4. Remove the glare guard: Loosen the set xxxx to remove the glare guard from the fixture body.
5. Install the MR11 bulb: Insert the MR11 bulb with the correct wattage and type marked on the fixture label. Secure it into place.
6. Reinstall the glare guard: Place the glare guard back onto the fixture body and secure it with the set xxxx . Hand tighten until snug.
