To defrost the MontPellier MCF101W Domestic Chest Freezer, follow these steps:
1. Switch off the freezer at the socket outlet and unplug it from the power source.
2. Remove any food from the freezer and store it in a cool place, such as a fridge or larder.
3. Place towels on the floor around the freezer to collect any water spills.
4. Leave the freezer lid open to allow the ice to melt.
5. If desired, you can place containers of warm water inside the freezer to speed up the defrosting process. Do not use any sharp objects to remove the ice.
6. Once all the ice has melted, drain out the defrost water from the bottom of the freezer. There is a drain outlet at the bottom of the freezer liner. Remove the rubber cover and twist the water conduit until the arrow points downward. Make sure there is no more water coming out before pushing the conduit back into place and ensuring the arrow points upward.
7. Dry the interior of the freezer thoroughly.
8. Switch on the Fast Freeze function and leave it on for no more than three hours to cool down the freezer.
9. Once the Fast Freeze function has completed, you can return the thermostat to your desired setting and start using the freezer again.
Note: Never use hairdryers, electrical heaters, or other electrical appliances for defrosting.
