To install the Hampton Bay 56050 52-Inch Corwin Ceiling Fan, follow these steps:
1. Safety First: Before starting the installation, turn off the electricity at the circuit breaker or fuse box.
2. Mounting Options: Determine the mounting option that suits your ceiling. The fan must be mounted with a minimum of 7 ft (2.1 m) clearance from the trailing edge of the blades to the floor. Ensure that the outlet box is securely mounted and capable of supporting the weight of the fan (at least 35 lb or 15.9 kg).
3. Assembly: Assemble the fan components according to the instructions provided in the user manual. This includes attaching the slide-on mounting bracket, canopy, ball/downrod assembly, fan motor assembly, light kit pan, light kit fitter assembly, and glass shade.
4. Wiring: Route the wires properly and make the electrical connections. Connect the fan motor white wires to the household white wire, and the fan motor black and blue wires to the household black wire. Secure the wire connections with the provided plastic wire connectors and electrical tape.
5. Hanging the Fan: Carefully lift the fan motor assembly and seat the hanger ball portion of the ball/downrod assembly in the mounting bracket socket. Ensure that the tab on the slide-on mounting bracket socket is properly seated in the groove in the hanger ball.
6. Canopy Installation: Align the locking slots of the canopy with the screws and alignment post in the mounting bracket. Push up the canopy and turn it clockwise until it locks in place. Install the decorative bottom cover by aligning the cover slots with the screws in the bottom of the canopy.
7. Blade Attachment: Attach the blades to the blade brackets using the provided screws. Then, attach the blade assemblies to the fan motor assembly by aligning the xxxx holes and tightening the screws.
8. Light Kit Installation: Install the light kit pan by aligning the xxxx heads with the keyhole slots in the fan motor assembly. Connect the wires from the light kit fitter assembly to the wires from the fan motor assembly using the molded adaptor plugs. Attach the light kit fitter assembly to the light kit pan by aligning the xxxx heads with the keyhole slots and turning it clockwise. Finally, install the LED bulbs and glass shade.
9. Operation: Turn on the power and check the operation of the fan. Use the pull chain to control the fan speeds (1 pull - High, 2 pulls - Medium, 3 pulls - Low, 4 pulls - Off). The slide switch controls the direction of the blades (forward for warm weather, reverse for cool weather).
