To install the STAHL 136667 Ex e Terminal Box, please follow the steps below:
1. Ensure that the installation location is suitable for the terminal box and complies with the specified ambient temperature range (-60 °C to +40 °C for T6 or -60 °C to +55 °C for T5).
2. Make sure the power supply to the terminal box is switched off before beginning the installation.
3. Determine the appropriate entry points for cables or conduits on the terminal box. The STAHL 136667 Ex e Terminal Box does not come with pre-drilled holes, so you will need to drill them according to your specific requirements.
4. Connect the cables or conduits to the terminal box using suitable connectors or cable glands. Ensure that the connection cross-section is appropriate for your application (4 mm² or AWG 12).
5. If required, mount the terminal rail (35 x 133 mm or 1.38 x 5.24 inches) inside the terminal box. This rail is used for connecting electrical components.
6. Install the desired terminals on the terminal rail. The STAHL 136667 Ex e Terminal Box is equipped with 1 x Phoenix UT 2-conductor terminal (4 mm², grey) and 2 x Phoenix UT PE 2-conductor terminals (4 mm², green-yellow) as standard.
7. Once all the connections are made, ensure that they are secure and properly tightened.
8. Close the terminal box by placing the cover on top and tightening the cover screws. The recommended tightening torque for the cover screws is 4.5 Nm or 39.83 lbf in.
9. Verify that the terminal box is properly sealed and has an IP66 degree of protection, which ensures protection against dust and water.
10. Finally, switch on the power supply and test the functionality of the installed components.
