To install the STAHL 133104 Ex i Junction Boxes, please follow the steps outlined in the installation guide provided with the product. Here is a general overview of the installation process:
1. Ensure that you have all the necessary components for installation, including the junction box, cable glands, and any optional accessories.
2. Select a suitable location for the junction box, taking into consideration the applicable explosion protection zones (1, 2, 21, 22) and the ambient temperature range (-40 °C to +75 °C).
3. Prepare the cables by stripping the insulation and crimping core end sleeves if necessary.
4. Install the cable glands in the designated entry points on the junction box. Use the provided polyamide cable glands (M20 x 1.5) for Entry 1 and the polyamide stopping plug (M20 x 1.5) for Entry 2.
5. Connect the cables to the mantle terminals inside the junction box. The number of conductors per clamping unit and the permissible conductor cross-sections are specified in the electrical data section of the manual.
6. Ensure that all conductors connected to a terminal have identical cross-sections and materials.
7. Securely tighten the cover of the junction box using the provided M4 stainless steel screws. The recommended tightening torque is 1.4 Nm.
8. Verify that the junction box is properly sealed by checking the IP66 degree of protection.
