To install the HINKLEY 5941 1 Light Wall Sconce, follow these steps:
1. Find a clear area in which you can work and unpack the fixture and glass from the carton.
2. Review the instructions carefully before starting the assembly.
3. Remove the mounting plate (A) from the backplate (C) by removing the screws (E) located on the side of the backplate.
4. Attach the mounting bracket (A) to the junction box (J) using two 8-32 screws (B). Make sure the threaded holes are on the side when installing the mounting plate, and ensure the plate is plumb by using a level across the top. Tighten the screws to secure the mounting plate.
5. Make all necessary wiring connections following the instruction sheet (IS-18) provided. Ensure you read the wiring and grounding instructions (IS-18) and any additional directions. Turn off the power supply during installation. If new wiring is required, consult a qualified electrician or local authorities for code requirements.
6. After making all electrical connections, slip the backplate (C) over the mounting strap (A) and align the holes in the side of the backplate with the threaded holes on the side of the mounting strap. Thread in the screws (E) removed earlier to secure the backplate to the mounting strap.
7. Once the installation is complete, you can restore power.
8. To install the glass, thread the socket ring (1) off the socket (S). Slip the glass (2) over the socket and hold it in place. Thread the socket ring (1) back onto the socket to secure the glass.
9. The fixture comes with a supplied T-lamp (3) for lighting.
