To install the PENTAIR Intellibrite 5g White And Color Pool And Spa Lights, please follow these step-by-step instructions:
1. Before starting the installation, make sure to read and understand all warning notices and instructions in the User Guide provided with the lights.
2. Ensure that your pool and spa meet the requirements of the current National Electrical Code (NEC) and all local codes and ordinances. It is recommended to consult a licensed or certified electrician to ensure compliance with these codes.
3. Always disconnect power to the pool and spa lights at the circuit breaker before servicing the lights. Failure to do so could result in electrical shock or electrocution.
4. For 12VAC luminaries, always use a separate step-down transformer to power the lights. Connect all three wires (black wire to power, white wire to common, and green wire to ground) to the corresponding circuit wires in the Junction Box.
5. Replace any cracked protective shield (cracked lens) with a new lens and gasket. It is important to always install a new lens gasket when reassembling the light to prevent water leakage and potential electrical hazards.
6. The PENTAIR Intellibrite 5g LED Pool Light and Spa Light cannot be used on a dimmer circuit. Using a dimmer switch will result in permanent damage to the lights.
7. Ensure that the installation of the lights complies with all state and local codes, which regulate the construction, installation, and operation of pools and spas. Consult your local building and health codes for more information.
8. When installing the lights, use only PENTAIR Water Pool and Spa fixture housings (niches). Installing the lights into other niches will void the UL approval and warranties.
9. For new pool construction, follow the installation guidelines provided in the User Guide. This includes proper installation of the wet niche, electrical bonding, and grounding connections.
10. For existing pools or spas, refer to the User Guide for instructions on replacing the light assembly or circuit board. Always use a new lens gasket when reassembling the light.
11. After installation, perform a final check for proper light operation. Switch on the main switch or circuit breaker to the system, and the switch that operates the IntelliBrite underwater light itself. The light should illuminate when power is applied.
