To wire the Easy Livin Distribution CRE-EDIDIO-10-1D Creative Lighting Ethernet DALI-DMX Gateway, follow these steps:
1. Fasten the gateway onto a DIN rail.
2. Connect a 24V DC power source (recommended: HDR60-24) to the gateway's input xxxx terminals marked DC IN + and DC IN -. The cable should be less than 98 feet (30 meters) from the power supply to the gateway.
3. For DALI functionality, an external DALI power supply unit (PSU) must be present on each DALI line. Connect the DALI line wires to the xxxx terminals at the top of the enclosure. Make sure not to have two DALI line power supplies on the same DALI line.
4. For DMX512-A functionality, connect the DMX512-A line wires to the xxxx terminals at the top of the enclosure. Be careful not to confuse the DALI and DMX512-A lines, as connecting a DALI bus PSU to a DMX512-A line can cause irreversible damage.
5. If you want to use contact inputs, connect the input pin source to a ground pin source. This can be done using potential-free contacts such as a switch mech or relay device. The inputs 1 to 8 will show about 3V DC when floating, allowing for easy testing with a multimeter. Inputs 9 to 12 will initially show a higher DC voltage and decay down to 3V DC over time.
6. Once the wiring is complete, you can proceed with the configuration and commissioning of the gateway using Composer Pro software.
