To install the Careium i10 Smoke Detector, follow these steps:
1. Carefully remove the mounting plate/base from the smoke alarm. There may be a cable connected to it.
2. xxxx the mounting plate to the ceiling in the desired location, making sure it is outside the bedroom or in stairwells.
3. If there is a cable connected to the mounting plate, connect it properly.
4. Activate the radio board in the base by pressing and holding the push button on the radio board (Fig. 3 A). Turn on the radio board with the switch (Fig. 3 B).
5. The push button (Fig. 3 A) will flash rapidly. Release the push button, then press it again. The button will light up for a while and then go off. This activates the radio board as a single unit. Refer to the user manual if you want to use multiple units wirelessly interconnected.
6. Align the arrow on the rear of the smoke detector with the arrow inside the mounting plate. Turn the smoke detector clockwise until the locking key clicks into place. This activates the smoke alarm automatically.
7. Activate the radio learning mode in the Carephone or system.
8. Press the test button on the smoke detector once. This will send a radio message that can be used to pair the smoke detector with the Carephone.
9. Confirm the programming at the receiver unit.
10. Configure the desired alarm type on the receiver.
11. Perform a test of the entire alarm chain by pressing the test button on the smoke detector three times within two minutes to send an alarm. Wait for the operator to answer the alarm. Note: Notify the alarm receiving center manager before starting the test.
