When piling the sauna stones in the Harvia PC70 Electric Sauna Heater, it is important to follow these guidelines:
1. Use sauna stones that are 5-10 cm in diameter and are angular split-face sauna stones intended for use in a heater. Suitable stone types include peridotite, olivine-dolerite, and olivine.
2. Do not use light, porous ceramic "stones" or soft soapstones, as they do not absorb enough heat and can damage the heating elements.
3. Before piling the stones, wash off any dust from them.
4. The aim is to pile a dense layer of stones against the steel grid and pile the rest of the stones loosely. This dense layer prevents direct heat radiation from overheating materials around the heater.
5. Be careful with the corners where the heating elements are near the grid. Pile the stones so that they support each other instead of lying their weight on the heating elements.
6. Support the heating elements with stones to keep them vertically straight.
7. Do not drop stones into the heater or wedge stones between the heating elements.
8. Avoid forming a high pile of stones on top of the heater.
9. Do not place any objects or devices inside the heater stone space or near the heater that could change the amount or direction of the air flowing through the heater.
Please refer to Figure 1 in the instruction manual for a visual representation of how to pile the sauna stones correctly.
