To install the HARVIA 55-021601-Ovi Aluminium Frame Door, follow these steps:
1. Wear eye protection and protective gloves during installation to ensure safety.
2. If the material in the walls is porous, consult your dealer for the appropriate methods of installing and sealing.
3. Place a piece of cardboard or similar padding under the door to prevent it from hitting the floor during installation. This is important because a tempered glass door can break into small pieces if sharply hit. Keep the support in the bottom edge of the door frame in place until the installation is finished.
4. Measure the width and height of the opening and the door to ensure a proper fit.
5. Install supports on the sides of the opening, leaving room for wedging on both sides. Use a spirit level to ensure the supports are installed vertically in-line. You can use a straight board as an extension for a short spirit level. Cut and install supports made of wood or similar material under the door.
6. To make the installation easier, you can install temporary stoppers to the supports so that the door can lean on them. This is particularly recommended if you are working alone. Place the stoppers in a way that the flagging on the wall and the door frame are on the same level.
7. Leave a gap of about 10 mm between the top of the frame and the opening. It is also recommended to leave a gap of 100-200 mm under the door for ventilation in the sauna (or about 10 mm in other rooms).
8. Lift the glass door into the opening and place wedges next to the bores between the supports. Ensure that the wedges are not placed under the bores. Fasten the hinge-side part of the frame to the wall with screws, starting with the topmost xxxx . Then, wedge and fasten the opposite side in the same manner. To ensure the frame is installed correctly, check that the gap between the glass and the frame is equally wide from bottom to top (including above the door).
9. After fastening the frame with screws, check that it is straight and the door opens and closes properly. If necessary, cut off any excess parts of the wedges (saw in a vertical position). Remove supports from under the door and from the bottom edge of the frame. Finally, install the cornice strips and the handle.
