Piling the sauna stones correctly is important for the functioning of the heater. Here are the steps to pile the sauna stones:
1. Use angular split-face sauna stones that are intended for use in a heater. Suitable stone types include peridotite, olivine-dolerite, and olivine.
2. Wash off any dust from the stones before piling them into the heater.
3. You will need approximately 20 kg of small stones (diameter 5-10 cm) and 140 kg of large stones (diameter 10-15 cm).
4. Do not drop the stones into the heater. Place them carefully so that the edges of the stones do not come through the gaps of the heating element cage.
5. Pile the stones as dense as possible, but do not block the heater's air intakes with stones.
6. Avoid forming a high pile of stones on top of the heater.
7. Do not place any objects or devices inside the heater stone space or near the heater that could change the amount or direction of the air flowing through the heater.
8. Ensure that no heating elements can be seen behind the stones. A bare heating element can endanger combustible materials even outside the safety distances.
Remember to rearrange the stones at least once a year or more often if the sauna is frequently used. Remove any disintegrated stones and replace them with new ones to maintain the optimal heating capability of the heater and avoid the risk of overheating
