To adjust the temperature in your KitchenAid refrigerator, follow these steps:
1. Locate the Temperature Control UI inside the appliance above the crisper drawers.
2. The refrigerator and freezer temperature controls are set to the recommended set points at the factory, which are 37°F (3°C) for the refrigerator and 0°F (-18°C) for the freezer.
3. If you need to adjust the temperature, press the refrigerator temperature button or freezer temperature button. Each press will decrease or increase the temperature by 1 degree.
4. The refrigerator temperature range is from 36°F to 43°F (2°C to 6°C), with the factory default temperature being 37.4°F (3°C).
5. The freezer temperature range is from -9°F to -3°F (-23°C to -16°C), with the factory default temperature being -0.4°F (-18°C).
6. Wait at least 24 hours between adjustments and recheck the temperatures before making further adjustments.
7. If the temperature is too warm or too cold, check the air vents to ensure they are not blocked before adjusting the controls.
Note: Adjusting the refrigerator and freezer controls to a colder-than-recommended setting will not cool the compartments any faster. Also, areas with higher humidity or extreme temperatures may require temperature adjustments to accommodate for these conditions.
