To install the HINKLEY 27902 Flash Mount fixture, follow these steps:
1. Shut off the electrical current before starting the installation. If the fixture you are replacing is controlled by a wall switch, turn the switch off. If not, remove the appropriate fuse or open the circuit breakers until the fixture is no longer receiving power. Do not restore the power until the new fixture is completely wired and in place.
2. Fasten the mounting strap (1) to the outlet box (A) using two screws (not provided).
3. Thread two hex nuts (3a) and (3b) onto the threaded tubing (4).
4. Thread one end of the threaded tubing (4) into the loop (5) at least 1/2'' to 3/4''. Tighten hex nut (3a) against the loop (5) to lock it in position.
5. Thread the other end of the threaded tube (4) into the mounting strap, leaving approximately 1/2'' of threaded area exposed.
6. Slip the canopy (B) over the loop (5) and adjust the height of the loop so that half of the threaded area is exposed. Tighten hex nut (3b) against the mounting strap to lock the loop and threaded tube in position.
7. Remove the mounting strap (1) from the junction box (A) and thread the third hex nut (3c) onto the end of the threaded tube (4) above the mounting strap. Tighten it against the mounting strap to lock the assembly in position.
8. Remount the mounting strap to the junction box.
9. Unwrap the fixture lead wire and ground wire and weave them up through the chain.
10. Slip the fixture lead wire and ground wire through the center of the loop (5).
11. Connect the ground wire to the mounting strap (1) using the green ground xxxx (GS).
12. Make the electrical connections from the supply wire to the fixture lead wires following the wiring instructions provided in the manual.
13. Slip the canopy up firmly against the ceiling and secure it by turning the threaded collar (6) on the loop (5) until tight.
For glass installation, please refer to the instructions provided in the manual.
Important: Always read the wiring and grounding instructions (IS 18) and any additional directions before starting the installation. If new wiring is required, consult a qualified electrician or local authorities for code requirements
