To attach an embroidery design to the pockets of the Easy On Apron, you have two options.
Option 1: Built-in Embroidery Design
If you have a built-in embroidery design on your Baby Lock Aurora or Bloom Sewing & Embroidery Machine, you can personalize the apron by adding this design to the pockets. Follow the pattern instructions for cutting and sewing the pockets, but make the following changes:
1. Cut a lining for each pocket and place them right sides together.
2. Sew a ½" seam along the slanted top, the long side, and the bottom, leaving the short side open.
3. Trim the corners and turn the lining right side out. Press well.
4. Use the Edge Joining Foot to top stitch along the slanted top. Place the fabric edge to the left of the flange on the foot and position the needle just left of the flange. This will guide your fabric and give you an even top stitch.
Option 2: Free Motion Embroidery Design
If you prefer to create your own design, you can use the easy access free motion mode on your machine.
Press well.
4. Cut a variety of circles ranging from 1" to 2 ½" in diameter. Position them on the front of the pocket as desired using a glue stick.
5. Draw additional stems, leaves, and flowers with a Frixion Pen for more interest.
6. Attach the Open Toe Free Motion Foot to your machine and set it to free motion mode.
7. Use the foot to doodle applique the circles in place, filling in the leaves, stems, and flowers. Let the lines be free and fun.
8. Go over the design a few times to secure the applique.
Remember to always refer to the pattern instructions for any additional sewing steps and techniques. If you have further questions or need more assistance, you can visit the Baby Lock website at www.babylock.com for more projects and resources.
