To install the NORTH STAR M1571711A.1 Full Feature Pressure Washer Hose Reel Kit, please follow these steps:
1. Inspect and Unpack: Upon receiving the kit, check for any missing or damaged parts. Refer to the "Component Identification" section in the owner's manual for a diagram of the accessories and components. If any components are missing or damaged, please contact Product Support at 1-800-270-0810.
2. Hose Reel Mounting Instructions:
a. Using two ½" wrenches, secure the hose reel to the billboard plate. Refer to figure 1571711-1 in the manual for reference.
b. Use the following components for the mounting:
- (1) Hose Reel (800423)
- (4) 5/16" x 3/4" HHFB Bolt (82621)
- (4) 5/16" Nut (82630)
3. Connect Fittings:
a. Using a 7/8" wrench, attach the elbow fitting (798262) to the hose reel. Orient the fitting as shown in figure 2A.
b. Using a 7/8" wrench, remove the 3/8" Quick Connect xxxx from the High Pressure Outlet Fitting. Keep this fitting as it will be reused in step D.
c. Using a 7/8" wrench, install the second elbow fitting (798262) onto the High Pressure Outlet Fitting. Orient the fitting as shown in figures 2B & 2C.
d. Install the 3/8" Quick Connect xxxx from step B onto the 50 ft. hose (799903). The fitting should be installed onto the end of the hose with the longer red bend restrictor.
4. Connect 50 ft. hose to hose reel:
a. Remove the swivel arm from the hose reel by removing the retaining clip. Refer to figure 3A.
b. Feed the end of the 50 ft. hose with the shorter red bend restrictor through the hole in the hose reel and attach it to the swivel arm.
c. Alternatively, the swivel can remain installed, and the 50 ft. hose end with the short bend restrictor can be attached. Once attached, the hose end with the long bend restrictor can be fed through the hole in the hose reel.
d. Reinstall the swivel arm and snap the retaining ring back into place (if removed).
e. The 50 ft. hose can now be wound onto the hose reel. If desired, the 50 ft. hose that came with the unit can be quick connected to the 3/8" Quick Connect xxxx from step 2D and wound onto the hose reel as well.
5. Connect 68" Hose to Hose Reel:
a. Connect the non-swiveling side of the 68" hose to the Elbow Fitting on the Hose Reel installed in step 2A.
b. Gently pry open the loop clamps (779666) and slide them over the 68" hose. Note the orientation in figure 1571711-1.
c. Using a ½" wrench, reuse the existing fastener on the billboard plate to attach the first loop clamp as shown in figure 1571711-1.
d. Using a ½" wrench, reuse the existing fastener on the Lower Belt Guard to attach the second loop clamp as shown in figure 1571711-1.
e. Install the swiveling end of the 68" hose onto the second Elbow Fitting installed onto the High Pressure Outlet Fitting. Refer to figures 2B & 2C.
