To install the TAC 133800 Steelcraft Running Board on your 2010-2013 Toyota 4Runner SR5, follow these steps:
1. Start on the passenger side of the vehicle and remove the existing factory bolts located by the front tire opening securing the factory rocker panel bracket to the vehicle.
2. Take one of the front mounting brackets and hold it over the rocker panel bracket, lining up the two mounting holes. Secure the brackets to the vehicle using the included longer 8mm x 30mm hex bolts, 8mm lock washers, and 8mm flat washers. Do not tighten the hardware at this time.
3. The center and rear brackets are identical. Take one of the center/rear brackets and repeat the procedure described in Step 2 to install it in the center mounting location.
Note: Install one mounting bracket at a time and do not tighten the hardware at this time.
4. Repeat Step 3 for the rear mounting bracket installation.
5. Carefully unwrap the running board and select the passenger side board. Insert three 6mm T-bolts into each channel on the bottom of the running board.
6. Slide the T-bolts forward or back to line up with the three previously installed mounting brackets. Hold the running board up to the vehicle at a slight angle and gently push it into position against the rocker panel. Line up the T-bolts with the slots in the brackets.
7. Attach the running board to the mounting brackets using the included 6mm flat washers, 6mm lock washers, and 6mm hex nuts. Do not tighten at this time.
8. Level and adjust the running board as desired and tighten all hardware. Repeat Steps 2-7 for the driver side running board installation.
9. Periodically inspect the installation to ensure that all hardware is secure and tight.
10. To protect your investment, wax the running board after installing. Regular waxing is recommended to add a protective layer over the finish. Do not use any type of polish or wax that may contain abrasives that could damage the finish.
11. For stainless steel running boards, aluminum polish may be used to polish small scratches and scuffs on the finish. Mild soap may also be used to clean the running board.
12. For gloss black finishes, mild soap may be used to clean the running board brackets.
