Pre-installation:
- The installation should be done by a fully trained competent person and must conform to local installation codes.
- Consider using a non-metallic spacer if mounting the device on a metal surface.
- Take precautions to avoid Electrostatic Discharge (ESD) when handling electronic boards.
- Note that only the first activated input will be shown at the control panel if both inputs enter an alarm condition.
- Ensure that the device is used within the specified environmental operating conditions.
Components:
- The package includes 4 lid screws, lid, status light pipe, back box, batteries (not included in some regions), resistor pack, and gasket.
Prepare the back box:
- Unscrew the four lid fixing screws and remove the lid.
- Drill cable entry points in the UNSHADED area as necessary.
- Use cable glands for cable entry.
- Fit the status light pipe.
Fix back box:
- Use all four corner fixing positions to ensure a firm fixing.
- Use suitable fasteners and fixings.
Fit batteries:
- Carefully unclip the battery cover.
- Observe correct polarity when fitting/replacing batteries and use only specified batteries.
- Re-fit the battery cover once all batteries are correctly in place.
Configuration:
- The device must be added (programmed) to the control panel. Refer to the programming manual for full programming details.
Input wiring:
- Two resistor monitored inputs are available.
- Both inputs monitor normal, alarm, open circuit, and closed circuit conditions.
- Each input is factory fitted with an end of line 20 kΩ resistor.
- Wire the inputs to external devices using the provided resistors as shown in the diagram.
- If an input is not being used, leave the factory-fitted 20 kΩ resistor in place.
Output wiring:
- Two voltage-free outputs are available with a maximum switching capacity of 30 V at 1 A.
- Do not connect to mains power.
- Ensure that any equipment connected does not respond to momentary transitions caused by severe mechanical shock.
LED operation:
- The device has six indication LEDs.
- The yellow LED indicates an input fault.
- The red LED indicates an active input or output.
Completing the installation:
- Re-fit the front lid to the device and tighten all four fixing screws to fully reassemble the unit.
