Setting up the FALMOUTH Kan Jam Library Lawn Games is quick and easy. Here's a step-by-step guide on how to set up and play the game:
1. Unpack the carrying case and take out all the components: 1 flying disc, 2 goals, and the instructions.
2. Choose a suitable playing area, preferably a flat and open lawn or outdoor space. Make sure there is enough room for the players to move around.
3. Position the goals approximately 50 feet apart from each other. The distance can be adjusted based on the skill level and age of the players.
4. Each goal consists of a round plastic container with a slot on the front. Place the goals facing each other, with the slots facing inward.
5. Divide the players into two teams. Each team will have one goal to defend and one player to throw the disc.
6. The objective of the game is to score points by throwing the disc into the slot of the opposing team's goal. A successful throw directly into the slot is an instant win and is called a "Kan Jam."
7. The throwing player must stand behind their team's goal and attempt to throw the disc towards the opposing team's goal. The teammate can assist by deflecting the disc towards the goal.
8. The defending team can try to prevent the disc from entering the goal by using their hands to slap it away or redirect it.
9. Points are scored as follows:
- A successful Kan Jam (direct throw into the slot) instantly ends the game, and the throwing team wins.
- If the disc hits the goal without going into the slot, the throwing team scores 1 point.
- If the disc is deflected by the defending team and hits the ground, the throwing team scores 2 points.
- If the disc is deflected by the defending team and hits the goal, the throwing team scores 3 points.
10. After each round, the teams switch roles, with the throwing team becoming the defending team and vice versa.
11. The first team to reach exactly 21 points wins the game. If a team goes over 21 points, their score is reduced to 15 points, and they must score exactly 2 points to win.
