Performing a cable test using the netAlly 2000 LinkRunner AT Copper and Fiber Autotester is a straightforward process. Here are the steps:
1. Connect the LinkRunner AT to the cable you want to test. Ensure that the tester is powered on.
2. On the LinkRunner AT, select the Cable Test option from the main menu.
3. The tester will automatically detect the cable type (copper or fiber) and initiate the test.
4. During the test, the LinkRunner AT will check for various cable faults such as pair lengths, opens, shorts, splits, crossed wires, and straight-through connections.
5. Once the test is complete, the tester will display the test results on the screen. You can view the details of any detected faults or issues.
6. If you want to check the patch cables, you can use the built-in wiremap port on the LinkRunner AT. This will help you identify any issues with the cables.
7. Additionally, the tester provides features like analog and IntelliTone toning, switch port advertisement, and switch port link light blinking to help you locate cable runs and identify specific ports.
