To install the Santa Fe UltraMD33 In Wall Dehumidifier, follow these steps:
1. Ensure that you have a dedicated 15 Amp circuit and a power supply near the installation location.
2. Determine the location for installation, preferably on or inside an interior wall with direct connection to the building's electrical service.
3. Install the unit in a central location to maximize air circulation and efficiency. Avoid installing it inside a closet or mechanical room with limited air supply.
4. Make sure the unit is protected from rain and flooding.
5. Check for any hidden wires or pipes inside the wall where the unit will be installed. Consult a certified electrician or plumber if needed.
6. Consult local building codes for acceptable condensate drain connections. The drain hose must be routed with a downward slope from the unit drain connection to an appropriate location.
7. If using the included power cord, insert it through the non-metallic cable clamp and make electrical connections using the included wire nuts. If not using the included power cord, ensure that the electrical connection and wire size are adequate and in conformance with the National Electrical Code.
8. Determine the type of installation: 2x6 16" O.C. stud wall installation, 2x4 16" O.C. stud wall installation, or surface mount installation.
9. For stud wall installation, measure and mark the stud walls, and cut through the walls using a drywall saw.
10. Lift the unit and place it near the wall opening, routing the electrical wires and drain hose through the appropriate knockouts.
11. Set the unit into the wall, ensuring it is level. Fasten the unit to the framing using the provided screws.
12. Reinstall the drain access cover and secure the drain hose with a hose clamp.
13. Complete the electrical connections by connecting the white, green, and black wires.
14. Tuck the electrical wires in and reinstall the electrical cover.
15. Turn on the circuit breaker or power supply.
16. Set the desired relative humidity (RH) level using the digital controller.
17. Install the diffuser cover by aligning the lower tabs first and then securing it with the provided screws.
