According to the user manual for the lowes 4664171 Innsbruck Valley Oak laminate flooring, the warranty covers several aspects of the product. The warranty states that the product will be free of manufacturing defects and the decorative laminate surface will not wear through. It also guarantees that the surface will resist staining, fading, and discoloration due to natural or artificial lighting. The warranty further states that the product will not be damaged from topical moisture under normal residential use conditions and will not stain from household pet accidents.
The Residential Use Limited Warranty applies to installations in single-family dwellings, while the Commercial Use Limited Warranty applies to specific environments such as retail, medical, hospitality, education, and office/corporate settings. However, it is important to note that common use high traffic areas in both multi-family residential and commercial settings are not covered under this limited warranty.
The warranty does not cover defects caused by improper sub-floor/surface preparation, improper installation, or improper application. It also does not cover damage due to improper installation, cleaning, care, or maintenance contrary to the provided instructions. Physical abuse, misuse, accidents causing scratching or impact dents, freight damage, modification, alterations, repair or service by unauthorized personnel, and wear or damage caused by acts of God are also not covered.
Surface wear must be visible from a standing position and cover an area greater than ½ square inch to be eligible for warranty coverage. Gloss or sheen reduction is not considered surface wear and is not covered.
The warranty does not apply to moisture or water damage caused by flooding, leaking appliances or pipes, pet urine, or other conditions that cause the floor to become saturated with water. It also does not cover damage caused by water or moisture in the subfloor or underneath the flooring. Moisture-related damage to any part of the home, including its structure, walls, subfloor, fixtures, furniture, etc., is not covered.
To make a warranty claim, it must be done in writing within 30 days after the basis for the claim has been detected. Proof of purchase is required. If a claim is approved, the manufacturer will repair or replace the affected flooring material. Labor costs related to installation of product containing obvious visual defects are not covered. Replaced planks are warranted for the remainder of the original warranty period.
It is important to read the complete warranty terms and conditions provided in the user manual for a comprehensive understanding of the coverage and limitations.
