To install the TroposAir 88484 Solara ceiling fan, follow these steps:
1. Before starting the installation, read the instructions and review the diagrams thoroughly.
2. Turn off the electricity at the main power box before wiring to avoid electric shock.
3. Make sure the installation site allows the fan blades to rotate without coming in contact with any objects. The blades should be mounted at least 7 feet from the floor.
4. If possible, mount the fan on a ceiling joist that can support the motion and weight of the fan. If mounting on a ceiling outlet box, use a 4" x 2-1/8" deep METAL octagon box suitable for fan support. Do not use plastic boxes.
5. Attach the blades after hanging the motor housing in place. Keep the motor housing in the carton until ready to be installed.
6. After making electrical connections, turn the spliced conductors upward and push them carefully into the outlet box. Spread the wires apart with the grounded conductor and equipment-grounding conductor on one side and the hot wires on the opposite side.
7. Install any UL/ETL listed light kits according to their installation instructions.
8. After the fan is completely installed, check that all connections are secured to prevent the fan from falling or causing damage.
9. The fan can be used immediately after installation. There is no need to oil the fan as it has permanently lubricated bearings.
10. Remember to turn off and stop the fan before reversing its direction.
11. This fan is for downrod mount only and is controlled by a remote.
12. The fan is suitable for damp location use.
13. Ensure that all green grounding wires from the fan are attached to the house's ground/earth wire to prevent flickering of the LED.
