To install the Westinghouse Magnolia Ceiling Fan, follow these steps:
1. Unpack and inspect the fan to ensure all contents are included. Turn off power at the fuse box to avoid electrical shock.
2. Install the mounting bracket:
- For solid wood construction ceiling, drill two mounting holes in the ceiling joist and securely xxxx the mounting bracket to the ceiling using the washers and wood screws provided.
- For concrete ceiling installation, additional steps are required. Drive the expansion anchors into the holes, tighten the hex nut until the mounting bracket is fixed stably.
3. Make the wiring connections to the terminal block on the mounting bracket according to the provided diagram.
4. Attach the blade assembly to the DC motor using the motor screws provided.
5. If using the flush mount option, remove the clamp pin and cross pin from the down rod. Loosen the set xxxx in the down rod ball until the ball moves easily up and down the down rod. Slide the down rod ball off the down rod and thread the lead wires and plug through the down rod assembly. Insert the down rod into the down rod coupling and tighten the set screws. Attach the upper motor housing, canopy cover ring, canopy, and hang ball cover to the down rod.
6. Carefully lift the fan assembly onto the mounting bracket. Rotate the fan until the notch on the down rod ball engages the ridge on the mounting bracket.
7. Secure the fan to the ceiling by tightening the screws on the bottom of the mounting bracket. Install the inside canopy cover ring onto the xxxx heads on the mounting bracket.
8. Install the light fixture by removing the screws on the metal decorative shade. Connect the wire plugs from the light kit and the motor and secure the light kit to the metal decorative shade. Align the holes on the light kit with the xxxx holes from the metal decorative shade and tighten the screws. Align the indentations on the neck of the glass with the protrusions from the light kit, lift the glass up, and twist it clockwise to lock into place.
9. Mount the transmitter holder onto the wall and place the transmitter into the holder.
10. Restore electrical power to the outlet box by turning on the electricity at the main fuse box. Install two AAA 1.5V batteries in the transmitter.
