To clean the Cuisinart CPK-3161XA Signature Kettle, follow these steps:
1. Unplug the kettle and allow it to cool before cleaning.
2. Wipe the kettle and the base of the unit with a soft, damp cloth.
3. Be sure to keep the electric kettle socket dry.
4. Dry all parts of the kettle after every use.
5. Never immerse the kettle or the power base in water.
For the removable scale filter:
1. Grasp the filter and pull it upward to remove it.
2. Run the filter under hot water and rub it with a clean cloth or brush.
3. Replace the filter by snapping it back into place.
For decalcification:
1. Decalcification refers to removing mineral deposits that may form in the interior and on the heating plate of the kettle over time.
2. We recommend using a kettle descaler according to the directions on the descaler package.
3. If a commercial descaler is not available, you can fill the kettle with enough white vinegar to cover the bottom by about 1cm.
4. Heat the vinegar to a boil and repeat this process with cooled vinegar until all deposits are removed.
5. After the descaling process is complete, empty the kettle and rinse it out several times with clean water.
Note: The frequency of decalcification will depend on the hardness of your tap water and how often you use the kettle.
Please refer to the Cuisinart CPK-3161XA Signature Kettle Instruction Manual for more detailed information and safety precautions.
