To install the Knightsbridge SPIKE4BL IP65 4W 335lm 3000K LED Wall or Spike Light, follow these steps:
1. Ensure that you have read and understood the safety instructions provided in the manual. This product must be installed in accordance with the latest edition of the IEE Wiring Regulations (BS7671) and current Building Regulations. If in any doubt, consult a qualified electrician.
2. Before installation or maintenance, isolate the mains power.
3. Check the total load on the circuit (including when this luminaire is fitted) does not exceed the rating of the circuit cable, fuse, or circuit breaker.
4. Consider the IP (Ingress Protection) rating of this luminaire when deciding the location for installation. The SPIKE4BL has an IP65 rating, which means it is protected against dust and low-pressure water jets from any direction.
5. This product is Class I and must be earthed.
6. If using this luminaire with an external PIR or sensor, confirm with the manufacturer of the sensors that they are compatible with LED luminaires.
7. Provide power to the required point of installation, following the correct cabling methods as per BS7671. Use suitable IP rated junction boxes where required.
8. Choose a position for the luminaire ensuring that the ground is suitable to firmly hold the spike and luminaire in position. Ensure the ground is not liable to flooding and the spike does not interfere with any underground pipes or cables.
9. The body of the product should not rest directly on the ground.
10. The pre-installed cable supplied is for above-ground use only. If routing cables within walls or below ground, protect them with a suitable conduit or trunking.
11. For wall mounting, use the bracket as a template to mark the location for the fixing holes. Ensure not to infringe with any gas/water pipes or electrical cables.
12. Connect the luminaire to the mains supply, observing correct polarity: Live (Brown), Earth (Green/Yellow), Neutral (Blue).
13. Switch on and check for correct operation.
14. If the protective glass is cracked or damaged, it should be replaced immediately. The fitting must not be used without the protective glass installed.
Please note that this is a general guide, and it is important to refer to the specific instructions and diagrams provided in the manual for accurate installation.
