To program the Genie 315390KPA Wireless Keypad Transmitter to your garage door opener, follow these steps:
1. Open the battery compartment of the keypad and remove the protective tab. Close the compartment door to begin programming.
2. Make sure that the safety features of your garage door opener are working properly as required by the door operator's manual. The wall console should be mounted in sight of the door, at least 5 feet above the floor, and clear of any moving door parts. Keep people clear of the opening while the door is moving and do not allow children to play with the keypad or door operator.
3. If the safety reverse feature of the door does not work properly, close the door and disconnect the opener using the manual release handle. Do not use the transmitter or door operator. Refer to the Door and Door Opener Owner's Manuals before attempting any repairs.
4. Activate the keypad by opening the battery compartment and pulling the protective tab. The keypad LED will flash each time a key is pressed and entry is accepted.
5. Sync the opener and the keypad by performing the following steps:
a. Ensure that the keypad back lighting is off.
b. Place the garage door opener into programming mode according to the instructions provided in the manual.
c. Press the numbers 3-5-7 in sequence on the keypad.
d. Press the UP/DOWN key 3 to 4 times slowly until the garage door opener operates.
e. This completes the programming of a single door opener (door 1) and keypad.
6. It is recommended to change the factory default PIN of 3-5-7 to a new PIN of your choice. To change the PIN, follow these steps:
a. Enter the factory default PIN of 3-5-7.
b. Press the PROGRAM key once.
c. Enter a new PIN of your choice, consisting of 3 to 8 digits.
d. Press the PROGRAM key once.
e. Your PIN has been changed, and the previous PIN will no longer operate the keypad or opener.
7. If you have multiple openers and want to program them to the keypad, follow the optional programming steps provided in the manual.
8. To reset the keypad to the factory default settings, follow these steps:
a. Ensure that the number pad back lighting is off.
b. Press and hold the PROGRAM and UP/DOWN keys together for approximately 5 seconds.
c. The LED will flash twice, and all lights will go out, indicating that the keypad has been reset.
