To change the speed/torque range on the DEWALT DCD991 and DCD996 drills, follow these steps:
1. Turn off the drill and disconnect it from the power source.
2. Locate the gear shifter on the drill, which is located near the chuck.
3. Slide the gear shifter to the desired speed/torque range. There are three speed settings available: Speed 1 (highest torque setting), Speed 2 (middle torque and speed setting), and Speed 3 (highest speed setting).
4. Make sure the gear shifter is fully engaged in the selected speed setting before using the drill.
Refer to the manual for more information on the specific torque and speed ranges for each speed setting.
