To install the PAC CH1AJKIT Integration Upgrade Kit in your Jeep Wrangler JK, follow these steps:
1. Begin by removing the front frame of the vehicle by releasing the side clips and swinging the bottom edge upwards.
2. Use a magnetic Phillips screwdriver to remove the two mounting screws on the left and right sides of the mounting panel.
3. Carefully pry up the display panel using a soft plastic panel tool and disconnect the two display cables from the back of the display.
4. Remove the knee bolster panel below the steering column by releasing the upper clips and swinging the panel downward.
5. Remove the screws from the bottom edge of the radio/instrument cluster trim panel on both sides of the steering column.
6. Remove the metal plate by removing the two bolts.
7. Push to release the power window switches or storage pocket below the radio from the back and disconnect the connector on the back of the switch assembly.
8. Remove the xxxx inside the switch opening and the xxxx underneath the rubber mat in the storage tray above the radio.
9. Release the lower bezel by firmly grasping it from below the radio and pulling it to release the lower retaining clips.
10. Pull the top edge of the panel to release the upper retaining clips and remove the panel.
11. Remove the four screws securing the radio module and pull the radio from the sub-dash.
12. Unplug the two USB cables, GPS antenna, and AM/FM antenna adapter from the radio module.
13. Disconnect the vehicle's gray 22-pin radio plug from the main harness and unplug any additional components.
14. Prepare the radio module and harness by connecting the SRK-CH1A-HAR Main Harness to the CH1A-SRK module and connecting the appropriate connector for amplified or non-amplified audio.
15. Connect the 6" Data Harness to the CH1A-SRK Expansion Port and the PAC-LINK module.
16. If the HEIGH10 10-pin Multi Camera Harness was previously installed, connect the 3-pin PAC-LINK lead on the harness to the PAC-LINK module. If not, connect the 3-pin PAC-LINK lead on the included 10P-RADIO-HAR to the PAC-LINK module.
17. Connect the pink SPEED SEN lead on the Main Harness to the pink SPEED SEN lead on the 10-pin Radio Harness.
18. Plug the 16PIN Radio harness and the 6PIN Steering Wheel Control harness into the HEIGH10 radio module.
19. Apply two-sided tape to the back of the CH1A interface and the PAC-LINK module and stick them to the top of the radio module.
20. Connect the appropriate CAN T-Harness for your vehicle model and route the 2-pin twisted lead up to the radio opening.
21. Before connecting and mounting the radio assembly, ensure that all necessary connectors and cables are accessible.
22. Plug in the USB cables, GPS antenna, AM/FM antenna adapter, and the vehicle's gray 22-pin radio plug to the SRK-CH1A-HAR main harness.
23. Connect the 2-pin connector from the CAN T-Harness to the DATA CON connector on the SRK-CH1A-HAR main harness.
24. Connect any additional components and tuck excess cables, wires, and connectors to the sides.
25. Slide the radio assembly into place, ensuring that no wiring gets pinched between metal brackets.
26. Install screws to hold the radio assembly in place and test the radio functions before reassembling the vehicle.
27. Connect the two display cables to the back of the display and power up the radio to check functionality.
28. Once the function test is complete, unplug the display cables from the back of the display.
29. Reinstall any remaining screws, panels, and switch pod to complete the installation.
