To calibrate the AZ INSTRUMENT 8921 Professional Sound Level Meter using the AZ 8930 sound calibrator, please follow these steps:
1. Ensure that both the sound level meter and the sound calibrator are turned off before starting the calibration process.
2. Connect the output of the sound calibrator to the microphone input of the sound level meter using an appropriate cable.
3. Turn on the sound level meter and select the desired measurement range and weighting (A or C) using the corresponding buttons on the device.
4. Press and hold the "CAL" button on the sound level meter for a few seconds until the display shows "CAL" and the calibration value.
5. Turn on the sound calibrator and wait for it to stabilize.
6. Place the sound calibrator's microphone near the sound level meter's microphone, ensuring that they are aligned properly.
7. Press the "CAL" button on the sound calibrator. The sound level meter will now measure the calibration signal and display the calibration value.
8. Compare the displayed calibration value with the known value of the sound calibrator. If there is a significant difference, repeat the calibration process.
9. Once the calibration is complete, press the "CAL" button on the sound level meter again to exit the calibration mode.
Note: It is recommended to perform regular calibration checks to ensure the accuracy of the sound level meter. Refer to the user manual for more detailed instructions and precautions regarding calibration procedures.
