To connect your BYO router to the NBN Connection Device (NCD), please follow these steps:
1. Locate the NBN Connection Device (NCD) and the telephone wall socket that has been activated for NBN.
2. Disconnect all equipment, such as phones and fax machines, from your telephone sockets to avoid interference with the NBN signal.
3. Connect the NCD to the activated telephone wall socket and power it up. Wait for the connection light and DSL light on the top of the NCD to turn solid blue. This may take up to 15 minutes.
4. Connect your BYO router to the NCD using the WAN port on the back of your BYO device and the Gateway port on the NBN NCD.
5. Connect a computer or laptop to your BYO router either via a cable or through Wi-Fi.
6. Access the router configuration page by following the instructions in your router user guide.
7. Most routers provide a Quick Start Guide or Setup Wizard. Follow the steps provided, ensuring that your router is configured in WAN mode and encapsulation is set to PPPoE. Use the ISP username and password provided by Tangerine Telecom to configure your BYO router.
8. Leave your BYO router connected while NBN completes the activation of your service. This process may take up to 2 hours.
9. Periodically check if you can access the internet using your BYO device. If you are still unable to access the internet after 2 hours, please consult the troubleshooting tips provided in the manual.
If you require further assistance in setting up your BYO device, you can contact Tangerine Telecom's technical support team via phone, live chat, or email.
