To adjust the fastening torque on the Makita XFD11 Cordless Driver Drill, you need to use the adjusting ring located on the tool. The adjusting ring has 21 levels of torque settings. Here's how to do it:
1. Turn off the tool and remove the battery cartridge.
2. Locate the adjusting ring on the front of the tool near the chuck.
3. Turn the adjusting ring to align the desired torque level with the arrow on the tool body.
4. The torque level is indicated by the graduations on the adjusting ring.
5. For minimum torque, set the adjusting ring to "1". For maximum torque, set it to the marking.
6. The clutch will slip at various torque levels when set between 1 and 20. The clutch does not work at the marking.
7. Before using the tool, drive a trial xxxx into your material or a piece of duplicate material to determine which torque level is required for your specific application.
Please refer to the "Adjusting the fastening torque" section in the Makita XFD11 Cordless Driver Drill Instruction Manual for more detailed instructions and safety precautions.
