To install the Husky 002273 One-Time Safe-T-Break, follow these steps:
1. Prior to installation, ensure that the pull force of less than 300 lbf / 1,334.4 N will not damage the hose assembly or dispensing device. The dispensing device must be securely bolted to the dispensing island.
2. Turn off the dispenser and relieve line pressure.
3. Attach a scale to where the Safe-T-Break will be installed. Apply a 300 lbf / 1,334.4 N pull force at various angles and then check the dispenser and hose for any damage. If no damage occurs, release the pull and proceed with the installation.
4. Install the Safe-T-Break in the direction of the flow arrows.
5. Use pipe thread sealant (not Teflon tape) approved for gasoline on the male threads of the hose section.
6. For high hose dispensers, install the Safe-T-Break between the hose sections. Verify that the whip hose is the correct length.
7. For low hose dispensers, install the Safe-T-Break downstream of any hose retractor cable coupling.
8. Tighten the connections approximately 1 to 2 turns past hand tight, but do not overtighten.
9. Pressurize the system and visually inspect for any leaks.
Remember not to overtighten, wrench across coupling, or install the Safe-T-Break directly to the dispenser. If separation occurs, follow the steps outlined in the manual for inspection, replacement, and further checks.
Please refer to the Husky 002273 One-Time Safe-T-Break Instruction Manual for more detailed instructions and safety guidelines.
