To calibrate the ThermoWorks ThermoPop 2 Meat Thermometer, follow these steps:
1. Fill a glass with crushed ice and add a small amount of water to cover the ice.
2. Insert the probe of the thermometer into the ice water, making sure it is submerged but not touching the sides or bottom of the glass.
3. Wait for the reading to stabilize. It should read 32°F (0°C) in the ice water.
4. Press and hold the CAL button on the back of the thermometer for 5 seconds until the display shows "CAL".
5. Release the CAL button and the display will show "CAL" followed by the current calibration offset.
6. Use the °C/°F button to adjust the calibration offset until the display shows "0.0".
7. Press the CAL button again to save the calibration offset.
8. Remove the probe from the ice water and dry it thoroughly.
Note: The ThermoWorks ThermoPop 2 Meat Thermometer comes with a calibration certificate, which indicates that it has been tested and calibrated to ensure accuracy. It is recommended to periodically check the calibration of the thermometer to maintain accuracy.
