According to the instruction manual, a complete charge of a car battery using the Clarke BC125, BC190 Battery Starter/Charger may take up to 10 hours. It is recommended to charge the battery slowly to protect it, so setting the MIN/BOOST switch to the MIN position is advised. If the amperage reading on the Ammeter gauge is 2 amps or less at either the MIN or BOOST setting, it may indicate that the battery is already fully charged or at the end of its useful life and in need of replacement. It is important not to charge the battery for longer than necessary.
