According to the installation guide, the National Electric Code (NEC) and NFPA life safety code regulations require routine tests for this exit sign. The unit needs to be tested for a duration of 30 seconds once every month. To perform this test, push in and hold the test switch. Additionally, a full 90-minute test needs to be performed on the unit once every 12 months. To do this, disconnect the power to the unit and leave it in emergency mode. The LEDs should stay ON for at least 90 minutes.
