To measure insulation resistance using the SEALEY TA319.V2 Digital Insulation Tester, follow these steps:
1. Connect the red test lead into the VΩ terminal and the black lead into the COM terminal.
2. Set the range select switch to the desired insulation resistance range (e.g., 200mΩ/250V or 2000mΩ/1000V).
3. Press the test button to power on the tester.
4. The LCD will display the insulation resistance value.
5. If testing a large installation with high capacitance, wait until the reading stabilizes to ensure the charging process is complete.
6. To discharge the charge stored in the insulation, release the test button.
7. Do not turn the range switch xxxx while the test button is pressed to avoid damaging the instrument.
Note: For testing at 1000V, ensure that the circuit under test does not include components that may be damaged by the applied voltage, such as power factor correction capacitors, low voltage mineral insulated cables, electronic light dimmers, electronic ballasts, and starters for fluorescent lamps.
Please refer to the SEALEY TA319.V2 Digital Insulation Tester Instruction Manual for more detailed instructions and safety precautions.
