To install the LG MHK666251 Combination Wall Oven, follow these steps:
1. Before beginning, remove all tape and packing materials from the oven and dispose of them properly.
2. Ensure safety by reading and following all instructions in the installation guide. This includes not putting any weight on the oven door, shutting off the electrical power during installation, and using mounting screws to secure the oven in the cabinet.
3. Make sure the cabinets and wall coverings around the oven can withstand the temperature generated by the oven (up to 194˚F[90˚C]) to prevent discoloration, delamination, or melting.
4. Do not remove the spacers on the side walls of the built-in oven as they center the oven in the space provided and prevent excess heat buildup.
5. Do not block the oven air exhaust located at the bottom of the oven to avoid cabinet damage and product malfunction.
6. Measure the current cutout dimensions and compare them to the cutout dimensions provided in the installation guide. Little or no cabinet work may be necessary.
7. Ensure that the cabinet base platform can support the weight of the oven (202 lbs [91.65 kg] for a Microwave Combination Wall Oven). If the cabinet does not have a solid bottom, install two braces or runners level with the bottom of the cutout to support the weight of the oven.
8. The junction box must be flush with the rear wall of the cabinet and the door should have a clearance of at least 23 inches when open.
9. Kitchen cabinets in contact with the oven must be heat resistant up to 194°F (90°C), and fronts of nearby units up to at least 158°F (70°C).
10. The oven must be hardwired into an approved junction box. A plug and receptacle are not permitted.
11. Follow the electrical connection requirements provided in the installation guide. Ensure that the oven is grounded properly and connected to an individual, properly grounded branch circuit protected by a circuit breaker or fuse.
12. Install the oven into the cabinet by sliding it into the opening and securing it with screws provided. Use 3/4” particle board screws if the cabinet is made of particle board. Install the metal bottom trim using screws provided.
13. Reinstall the oven door if it was removed during installation.
14. Finally, check the operation of the oven by following the instructions in the Owner's Manual. Verify the functions such as broil mode, convection bake mode, microwave function, bake mode, and burner operation for each convection mode.
