To install the BULL 66009 1250 CFM 36-Inch Stainless Steel Outdoor Vent Hood, please follow these step-by-step instructions:
1. Before beginning installation, thoroughly read and become familiar with the instruction manual provided with the vent hood.
2. Ensure that installation and service are completed by a qualified installer to avoid voiding the warranty.
3. The vent hood should not be installed on a patio or lanai area without a roof over it to protect it from direct rain or potential water ingress. It should be installed with a minimum of three feet of weatherproof roof coverage on all sides that are not protected from direct rain by an adjacent wall.
4. All duct work and roof openings must be thoroughly sealed with applicable tape and/or roof sealant to prevent the ingress of water.
5. Consult a licensed ventilation contractor or a qualified technician for the proper installation of exhaust ducting. Locate the cooking area for minimum cross drafts away from doors and windows, if possible.
6. Ducts must be of adequate size and duct runs should be as short as possible. Where turns are necessary, keep the turning radius as large and smooth as possible.
7. The ducting must be airtight. Use a minimum of 2 sheet metal screws at every duct joint and seal the duct joints with high-quality duct tape.
8. Do not use this unit with any solid-state speed control device.
9. The vent hood must be grounded.
10. Follow the electrical connection instructions provided in the manual. Ensure that the power supply is disconnected before proceeding and that the power supply matches the ratings found on the appliance data label.
11. Determine the direction of the vent and secure the hood by attaching it to the framing through the top and back. Drill xxxx holes through the hood as required and drive screws through the xxxx holes to secure the hood.
12. Activate the ventilator when using cooking appliances and adjust the fan speed as needed. Do not operate the blower/ventilator system without the filters in place or with dirty, grease-laden filters.
13. Clean filters and grease-laden surfaces often to improve efficiency. Filters can be hand washed in hot water using a mild detergent solution or placed in a dishwasher. Stainless steel surfaces should be cleaned with a solution of mild detergent and warm water, rinsed, and dried with a soft lint-free cloth.
14. Use PAR 20 halogen lamps for the halogen lights.
