To connect the j5 create JCD393 USB-C 10Gbps Mini Dock to your computer, follow these steps:
1. Make sure your computer has an available USB-C port that supports DisplayPort alternate mode and USB Power Delivery 2.0 or 3.0.
2. Plug the USB-C connector of the Mini Dock into the USB-C port on your computer.
3. If you want to connect a 4K display, make sure you have a 4K-capable display. Connect the HDMI cable from the Mini Dock's HDMI output to the HDMI input on your display.
4. If you want to connect peripherals, the Mini Dock provides three SuperSpeed USB 10Gbps downstream ports. Connect your peripherals to the USB-C and Type-A ports on the Mini Dock.
5. If you want to add wired network connectivity, connect an Ethernet cable to the Gigabit Ethernet port on the Mini Dock.
6. If you want to charge your laptop and peripherals, make sure your laptop and peripherals support USB Power Delivery. The Mini Dock supports 100W Power Delivery.
7. The Mini Dock is plug-and-play, so no driver installation is required. Once connected, your computer should automatically recognize the Mini Dock and its connected devices.
Note: The Mini Dock will not pass power through the connected device if the USB-C port on your computer does not support Power Delivery. If you are using high-powered USB devices, it is recommended to attach a USB-C power adapter to the power delivery port on the Mini Dock for maximum performance. Avoid removing the power adapter while copying files to prevent disruption. It is also advised to connect only one bus-powered/portable external hard disk drive to the adapter at a time.
