4. Read and follow the safety precautions provided by the inverter, charger, or other equipment manufacturer before connecting the battery.
5. Refer to the wiring diagrams provided in the manual for the main diagram, inverter diagram, Kisae DMT-1250 diagram, and battery/IonGage diagram to understand the layout and connections.
6. The main diagram shows the general layout of the system, with the battery positive cable connected to the main positive distribution bus via a fuse and an isolation switch. The inverter is connected to the positive distribution bus via a fuse and an isolation switch.
7. The inverter diagram shows the AC installation, with the inverter connected to the main panel and protected by a circuit breaker. A Residual Current Device (RCD) type circuit breaker should be wired in series with the output.
8. The Kisae DMT-1250 diagram shows the connection of the charger to the positive distribution bus via a circuit breaker. The PV solar array is connected to the MPPT charger input via a circuit breaker.
9. The battery/IonGage diagram explains the monitoring capabilities of the Lithionics IonGage, which tracks battery voltage, current, power, amp-hours consumed, and state of charge.
10. Ensure that all cables and connections are properly sized and rated for the expected load. Follow the guidelines provided in the manual for cable size, circuit breaker rating, and grounding conductor size.
11. Install warning labels as instructed in the manual to indicate the presence of an inverter in the system.
12. Before connecting the battery, check for visible damage and ensure that the top surface and terminal connections are clean, dry, and free of dirt and corrosion.
13. Connect the positive and negative battery cables with correct polarity, using ring terminal lugs and securing them with the provided bolts, washers, and lock washers. Do not place washers between the power terminal and the ring terminal lug.
14. Tighten the power terminal bolts to the specified torque to ensure good contact with the ring terminal lug, but avoid over-tightening to prevent breakage.
15. Size the battery cables according to the expected load and fuse the battery circuit appropriately.
16. After installation, turn on the battery power by pressing the Power button, and confirm the battery's state using the LED indicator.
