To install the Gorenje WHC529E4X cooker hood, please follow the instructions provided in the manual. Here is a step-by-step guide:
1. Before starting the installation, make sure to read the instructions carefully and gather all the necessary tools and materials.
2. Verify that all the components of the cooker hood are undamaged. If any components are damaged, contact your dealer before proceeding with the installation.
3. Decide whether you want to install the cooker hood in ducting or filter version.
- Ducting version: In this case, the fumes are conveyed outside of the building through a special pipe connected to the connection ring located on top of the hood. The exhausting pipe is not supplied and must be purchased separately. The diameter of the exhausting pipe must be equal to that of the connection ring. Make sure to use a duct of the minimum indispensable length, with as few elbows as possible (maximum elbow angle: 90°), and avoid drastic changes in the duct cross-section. The duct should be as smooth as possible inside.
- Filter version: In this version, one active charcoal filter is needed. The filter removes grease and smells from the extracted air before sending it back into the room through the upper outlet grid. The charcoal filter is not washable or regenerable and needs to be replaced at least every four months.
4. Determine the minimum distance between the supporting surface for the cooking equipment on the hob and the lowest part of the range hood. The distance should be at least 55cm from electric cookers and 65cm from gas or mixed cookers. If the installation instructions for the gas hob specify a greater distance, follow those instructions.
5. Ensure that the mains power supply corresponds to the rating indicated on the plate inside the hood. If the hood is provided with a plug, connect it to a suitable electrical outlet. If the plug is not located in an accessible area, after installation, apply a double pole switch in accordance with standards that ensures the complete disconnection of the mains.
6. Mounting the hood requires at least two persons due to its weight. Check that the product purchased is of a suitable size for the chosen installation area. Remove the charcoal filter/s if supplied. Check for any other supplied material inside the hood and remove them. Disconnect and move any freestanding or slide-in range from the cabinet opening to provide easier access to the rear wall/ceiling for assembling the unit. Cover the surface with a protective covering and place all canopy hood parts and hardware in it.
7. Use the fixing screws supplied with the product for installation. If not supplied, purchase the correct type of screws. Use the correct length for the screws as identified in the Installation Guide. If you are unsure, consult an authorized service assistance center or a qualified person.
8. For the ducting version, connect the special pipe to the connection ring on top of the hood. Make sure the pipe is of the correct diameter and is slightly slanted (about 10°) in horizontal runs, directed upwards to vent the air easily from the room to the outside. Avoid using tubes and discharge holes on walls with smaller dimensions, as it may decrease suction performance and increase noise.
9. Once the installation is complete, test the hood by pressing the appropriate buttons on the mechanical controls. The Light button is used to switch the light on and off, while the Speed buttons control the motor speed. The Switch Off button is used to switch off the motor.
10. Regularly clean the cooker hood both internally and externally using a cloth dampened with neutral liquid detergent. Do not use abrasive products or alcohol. Clean the grease filter once a month either by hand or in the dishwasher using non-aggressive detergents. Replace the charcoal filter at least every four months.
