Proper cleaning and maintenance of the FISHER PAYKEL 950N82J 950 SLE Ventilator Circuit Kit is important to ensure its safe and effective use. Here are the steps to clean and maintain the circuit kit:
1. Cleaning:
- Do not clean or sterilize the circuit kit. Avoid contact with chemicals, cleaning agents, or hand sanitizers.
- Do not crush, stretch, or milk the tubing.
- Do not cover the circuit with materials such as towels, pillows, or bed linen.
- Avoid leaving tubing in prolonged contact with the patient's skin.
2. Maintenance:
- Check all connections are tight before use.
- Perform a pressure and leak test on the breathing system before connecting to a patient.
- Monitor circuit condensate to prevent occlusion or build-up of fluid. Drain as required.
- The humidifier should always be level and positioned lower than the patient.
- Do not use the chamber if it has been visibly damaged or dropped.
- Do not use the chamber if any of the sensor covers are dislodged or missing from the chamber.
- Do not use the chamber if the water level rises above the maximum water level line.
- Do not fill the chamber with water in excess of 37 °C.
- Do not use medications containing Tyloxapol (such as Tacholiquin) as this may damage the tubing and lead to a loss of ventilation pressure.
- Dispose of the breathing circuit according to local, state, or country-specific environmental laws and regulations.
