To change the battery in the ZAKARIAN K65894 Stainless Steel Probe Thermometer, follow these steps:
1. Open the round compartment on the back of the thermometer using a small coin or flat-head screwdriver. The compartment lid is marked with an arrow to show which way to open it, counter-clockwise.
2. Inside the compartment, you will see the battery. Take note of the positive polarity of the battery (shown with a +).
3. Remove the old battery from the compartment.
4. Insert a new LR44 battery into the compartment with the positive (+) polarity facing up.
5. Close the compartment by aligning the arrows on the lid and the thermometer body, and then turning it clockwise to secure it.
It is important to use a new battery of the same type when replacing the battery. Failure to insert the battery in the correct polarity may cause damage to the thermometer or shorten the battery life.
