To calibrate the APERA PH5 Cole Parmer pH Pocket Tester, follow these steps:
1. Short press the power button to turn on the tester.
2. Pour pH buffer solutions into the calibration vials to about half volume.
3. Rinse the probe in pure water and shake off excess water.
4. Dip the probe in the pH 7.00 buffer solution, make a quick stir, and then hold still.
5. Long press the power button to enter calibration mode. The screen will turn green.
6. Wait for the reading to stabilize on the screen.
7. Short press the power button to start the 1st point calibration.
8. After the calibration is completed, the tester will return to measurement mode, and an icon will appear at the bottom left of the screen, indicating a successful calibration.
9. To calibrate the 2nd point, use the pH 4.00 buffer solution and repeat steps 4 to 8. Do not turn off the tester after finishing the pH 7 calibration.
10. If necessary, calibrate the 3rd point using the 10.01 standard pH buffer solution and repeat steps 4 to 8.
11. The tester can perform 1 to 3 points of automatic calibration and can recognize 5 types of pH standard solutions.
Note: The 1st point calibration must be 7.00 pH. Perform the 2nd and 3rd point calibrations immediately after the 1st point calibration is finished. Do not turn off the meter before calibrating the 2nd or 3rd point. If you do, you will need to restart the calibration process with 7.00 pH first.
